A Escola da Terra em Sintra, segue a Pedagogia Waldorf . O seu currículo cuidadosamente criado, tem como base a Antroposofia de Rudolf Steiner.
Entrar numa escola Waldorf é uma experiência especial e única.
Desde o momento em que entramos no portão, atravessamos o recreio e passamos pelas salas, sentimo-nos envolvidos num ambiente artístico, onde se ouvem canções e se admiram as cores.
As pequenas galochas enlameadas e enfileiradas à entrada refletem, imediatamente, brincadeiras felizes ao ar livre.
As salas de aula assemelham-se ao ambiente fresco e bucólico das casas de campo, transmitindo um ambiente de aconchego e procurando ser uma extensão da casa das crianças.
O principal objectivo da pedagogia Waldorf é desenvolver indivíduos livres, responsáveis e integrados, social e moralmente.
The Four Candles
The Four Candles
The Four Candles burned slowly.
They shone so soft you could hear them speak.
The First Candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit."
Then Peace's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.
(Gently blow out this candle)
The Second Candle said, "I Am Faith, but these days, people believe they no longer need me."
Then Faith's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.
(Gently blow out this candle)
Sadly The Third Candle Speaks, "I Am Love and I haven't the strength to stay lit any longer. People put me aside and don't understand my importance. Sometimes they even forget to love those who are nearest to them." And waiting no longer, Love goes out completely.
(Gently blow out this candle)
A child enters the room and sees the three candles no longer burning.
The child asked softly: ”Why are you not burning?
You are supposed to stay lit forever and ever"
Then the Fourth Candle speaks gently to the little child, "Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we can re-light the other candles."
With shining eyes the child took the Candle of Hope and lit the other three candles.
(Slowly light the other three blow candles with the fourth)
And so we never let the Flame Of Hope go out .
With Hope in our lives , Peace, Faith and Love may Shine Brightly once again.
